Carmen IGLESIAS

Carmen was born in Madrid in 1974. She started studying dance at 6. She had a very complete training in Flamenco, Spanish Dance and Folklore.

In 1994, she passed her degree in Spanish Dance and Flamenco at the Madrid Dance Conservatory. In 1998 she passed her degree at the Complutense University in Madrid.

Later on, she pursued Flamenco studies in the very renowned Madrid school “Amor de Dios”, where she was trained by the most eminent dancers of the time.

She simultaneously amplified her training with Classical and Contemporary Dance studies.

Throughout her career, Carmen was a part of the most prestigious Spanish companies such as Joaquin Cortès, Rafel Amargo, Maria Pagés, Rafael Aguilar, José Greco II or La Tati. She has been in the “Flamencos en Route” company for 8 years in a row.

 

She toured on all continents and danced in big theatres like the Moscow Bolshoi, Opera Theatres like Dresden, Frankfurt, Hannover, Hambourg, Cairo, Guangzhou, the China National Center Performing Arts in Pekin, the Tokyo Metropolitan Theater, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Town Hall and the City Center in New York, the Théâtre Châtelet in Paris or the Jackie Gleason in Miami.

Carmen could also develop all the different sides of her talent as a dancer in shows like “Carmen” and “Bolero” by Rafael Aguilar, “D’amour et de haine” by Joaquín Cortés, “Poète à New York” and “Temps mort” by Rafael Amargo, “Le Rubis” and “Pas à pas” by Flamencos en route.

She got herself noticed as a prima donna for her role as Adele in “La Maison de Bernarda Alba” with the Tati company and her role as Candela in “L’amour sorcier”, in a dancing couple with Rafael Amargo.
