Amandine Bourgeois

Who is Amandine Bourgeois…
One of the most beautiful voices in France, a true stage powerhouse, winner of Nouvelle Star, and France’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest.
But if we stop there, we’ve barely scratched the surface — so let’s go further.

She has recorded four albums (20 m², Sans Amour Mon Amour, Au Masculin, Omnia), performed around the world — from China to Tahiti, via London — and has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Beverly Jo Scott, Scorpions, Mathieu Amalric, Boris Bergman, and more.
She has toured alongside Johnny Hallyday and Thomas Dutronc.
And now, fifteen years after her gold-certified debut album “20m²”, Amandine remains a vital force on the French music scene.

It is with her new album, “M.E.U.F”, that the mask finally comes off.
M.E.U.F is a bold and unconventional work, much like its creator, who — now free of past constraints — can fully embrace the syncretism of her artistic choices, no longer confined to musical boxes or bound by other people’s rules.

This love of diversity likely stems from her rich and multicultural background:
an Antillean great-grandfather, a Sicilian stepfather born in Tunisia who was a bassist and helped raise her, a jazz-influenced guitarist father, and a family record collection where Maria Callas, Maurane, Higelin, Brel, Nougaro, iconic 70s pop, the overtone singing of Huun-Huur-Tu, and jazz voices like Ella Fitzgerald and Norah Jones coexisted in harmony.

This eclectic environment, in which Amandine was immersed from a young age, gave her an openness to all musical genres.
In this latest album, she takes us by the hand and leads us through her pop universe, tinged — depending on the track — with Latin, Afro, Gypsy, Funk, Dance, and Rock rhythms.

To truly discover her, sit down, close the door, turn off your phone, and listen closely to the lyrics of each song.
With her raw sensitivity, likely heightened by the life growing inside her during the album’s recording (her son Léon was born in January 2023), Amandine channels the emotions of all the women she’s encountered — women whose joys and struggles she has shared.

Some songs are autobiographical (Kiss & Fly), others are inspired by brief encounters, like one in a metro corridor (Bon courage Madame), but the common thread throughout this album is the raw emotion of a modern woman, torn between a thirst for life (Minimum) and the anxieties of a world losing its bearings (Je crie la vie).

Even when anger and rebellion surface — "bon courage ma rage dans ce tunnel bleu" — or fear ("of time slipping away"), fragility ("I sow love just for a little warmth"), or melancholy ("if I lie too close to you, I might fall") — all of these emotions are quickly lifted by the vibrant energy of her music, her deep-rooted optimism, her bursts of laughter, and most of all, her unwavering determination to always chase her dreams.

Let yourself be swept up in this festive whirlwind — get up and dance!
