Suzane

While studying classical dance at the conservatory for fifteen years, Suzane developed a passion for French chanson réaliste (Brel, Piaf, Barbara...). Until the day she threw it all away. Exasperated by the dictates imposed by high-level dance, the blind discipline, and the personal sacrifices, she quit dancing and took a job as a waitress.

She discovered the world of nightlife, its clubs, and its electronic music. It was a revelation. It was at this moment that her artistic project took shape: Suzane would be an electronic artist, with dance as a central element—a deconstructed dance far removed from the one she had learned in her youth—without neglecting her love of words. Her job as a waitress proved to be a wellspring of inspiration: her customers became actors, unknowingly fueling her writing. Suzane's songs offer the perspective of a young woman of today, in an era of dizzying addictions and black screens, of doubts and hopes.

Suzane burst onto the French music scene in 2020, winning a Victoires de la Musique award in the Newcomer of the Year category. After releasing her first EP in 2019, she released her debut solo album, "Toï Toï," in January 2020. This album was entirely composed by the singer herself, from writing the lyrics to composing the music. It explores a range of current issues, including sexism, homophobia, and sexual harassment. Other topics are more personal; Suzane talks about her musical dreams, her past as a dancer, and her work as a waitress.

In 2021, she was nominated for a Victoires de la Musique award in the top category: Female Artist of the Year.
